Hundreds of meetings at Thai Water brought strong business leads for the participating Israeli companies. The Israeli activities and booth were a focal point at the event.
“The success of the Israeli events at Thai Water were unprecedented, we’re getting great feedback from the companies and starting to see business emerge,” says Barak Sharabi, Economic Officer in Thailand.
Sharabi’s team organized the activities, which took place June 3-6 in Bangkok, together with Israel NewTech and The Manufacturers Association of Israel. The events included an Israeli booth at the Thai Water exhibition, which was located right at the entrance to the fair and drew large crowds, a gala at the Ambassador’s residence, one on one meetings, and a professional seminar: ““Treating, Managing and Creating Water – Israeli Innovative Solutions for the challenges of a new world.”
Gadi Tilbor, RWL’s CFO, Israel Operations, thanked the team after the event: “I believe the exhibition, the quality of the meetings and the exposure will help us to leverage our business in Thailand.”
“Every one of the activities succeeded even beyond our expectations,” says Sharabi: “The Israeli companies professional seminar was overbooked to the point we needed to add more rows of chairs for guests; during the gala evening at the Ambassador’s residence we got 100% attendance, and the companies gave great feedback on the one on one meetings, which were based on “wish lists” we got from the companies and on the spot meetings. The companies were excellent partners and we were glad to work together with them to make the events a success.”
Ud Shani, VP Sales at Aqwise, was very satisfied with his company’s participation at Thai Water: “The level at the event was very high. We made important contacts that I’m confident will bring us new business in the near future.”
According to Eitan Dery, VP Marketing & Sales at Watermatic, the event was organized exceptionally well. “We were very pleased to meet key figures at the companies which are of interest to us. We got very good leads and I’m glad we attended.”
The event drew senior managers from companies such as water utilities PWA and MWA, gas and energy companies such as Thai Oil, EGAT and PTT as well as system integrators. Participants arrived from Thailand, a very impressive senior delegation from Myanmar, as well as other countries in the region.
What Israeli water technologies are Thai companies most interested in? “Thailand has a lot of natural water resources, but they still suffer water scarcity, in some areas of the country” explains Sharabi. “This is due to challenges in water management, from pipes and infrastructure to measurement, ICT and more, so water management solutions of various types get a lot of interest.”
The participating Israeli companies were: Aqwise, ATC, Atlantium, Bermad, IDE Technologies, A.R.I. Optimal Flow Solutions, RWL Water Supply, Talis Group, and Watermatic. (Click here for the event brochure including the company overviews.)
