RWL Water Israel (a subsidiary of RWL Water) has entered into a strategic partnership with Chinese infrastructure giant CGGC. An interview with Hezi Kugler, Chairman, Israel Operations.
“We decided a few months ago that the right way to bring our water treatment solutions to the Chinese market is in strategic partnership with a major Chinese infrastructure company,” explains Hezi Kugler, Chairman of Israel Operations at RWL Water. Their search brought the company to the China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC). CGGC implements major infrastructure projects in more than 100 countries and regions, ranking in the top 100 in the ENR Top 250 International Contractors, according to the company’s website..
According to Kugler, RWL Water Israel is already working with CGGC in providing its wastewater treatment solutions in the framework of a number of major CGGC infrastructure projects in China. “Our focus is the supply of treated water, wastewater for industries, as well as in the municipal sector” says Kugler. RWL Water Israel is providing its advanced membranes solutions and other industrial wastewater treatment technologies for reuse.
The partnership between RWL Water Israel and CGGC is a strategic one, and the companies will cooperate on a number of fronts. CGGC will be attending the international WATEC 2015 conference and event in Israel in October, as the guest of RWL Water Israel. In addition, the companies will be jointly participating in the Israel-China Water City.
Shouguang, on the eastern Chinese coast, has been designated as the hub of Chinese-Israeli cooperation in the water sector. The governments of Israel and China established this “Water City” to serve as a the launch pad for cooperation in the water sector. The intention is for Israeli water technologies to be implemented on a commercial scale in Shouguang, serving as adaptable models for other areas in China.
Adi Yefet, head of the water arena at Israel NewTech, congratulated RWL Water Israel on this important step in the Chinese market: “China has identified Israel’s proven strength in the water arena, and both the government and private sector are actively seeking out Israeli companies. RWL Water Israel’s strategy of partnering with a strong partner in China is sure to bring substantial results.”
